Xenophobia — 188 Nigerians arrived Murtala Muhammed International Airport

The Air Peace flight MEN2759 from South Africa has arrived Nigeria through the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

The flight conveying 188 Nigerians follows an order given by President Muhammadu Buhari on September 9, 2019, to bring back Nigerians in South Africa who are ready and willing to return home, as a result of the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa.

The flight was said to delay for about 8 hours as a result of check up for proper documentation.

Reports shows that about 7 people were detained for allegedly entering the country illegally, while some were turned back over inadequate documentation for travelling with children.
